Jermain Defoe happy to see out career at Tottenham
Jermain Defoe wants to see out the rest of his career at Tottenham Hotspur.
The 27-year-old striker is in his second spell at White Hart Lane following one year at Portsmouth and his form since returning to north London has led to his elevation from squad member to regular starter for England.
The striker was brought back to Spurs by manager Harry Redknapp after he took him to Portsmouth in January 2008.
Defoe, who began his career at London rivals West Ham United, has scored 92 goals in 230 appearances for Spurs and is now hoping to spend the rest of his career at the club.
"Everything about the club tells you they are going in the right direction and I want to remain a part of that," he told the Daily Mirror.
"You'd have to crazy not to want to stay a part of that. So yes, I want to stay for the rest of my career because I believe Tottenham will go on to establish themselves in the top four under Harry."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
